About Dr. Michael Rosner
Michael K. Rosner, MD received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from Marquette University, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. A graduate of Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee in 1995 he completed a surgical internship at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, D.C. in 1996. Following a research fellowship at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, Washington, D.C. in 1999 and completion of residency training in Neurological Surgery in 2002 at Walter Reed Army Medical Center he completed a fellowship in complex and reconstructive spine surgery at Northwestern University, Chicago, Illinois in 2003 under the direction of Dr. Stephen Ondra.
After fellowship training, Dr. Rosner was a staff neurosurgeon at Walter Reed and deployed in 2003 to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Landstuhl, Germany; he was subsequently deployed in 2005 to the 86th Combat Support Hospital in Baghdad, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. In 2006 he was selected as chief of neurosurgery at Walter Reed and later selected as the integrated chief of neurosurgery during and after the transition to join Walter Reed Army Medical and the National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, Maryland as one institution, Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Since 2007 Dr. Rosner has been the program director for the National Capital Consortium (NCC) Neurosurgery Residency Program and since 2008 he has been an associate professor in surgery at the F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine, Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, Bethesda, Maryland.

I was very disappointed, as I'd booked an appointment with this surgeon specifically to get his opinion. Instead, after a very long wait, I was seen by a PA who gave me information I had reason to doubt. Dr. Rosner, who had apparently had an emergency commitment earlier that morning, appeared for less than 10 minutes and seemed anxious to move on to his next appointment. I don't feel I got an adequately informed opinion from him, and I wasn't given a chance to re-ask the questions I had earlier put to the PA. So I can't really comment on his expertise, but there's no question this appointment was a waste of my time.

Dr Rosner was very good as was his PA. It was explained to me that the 1.5 hour wait was due to the Dr needing to figure out how best to address my treatment and wanting to wrap everyone else up so he vcould spend the time with me. I am appreciative of this but still would like to be scheduled more efficiently

After 19 months of dealing with a different neurosurgeon in another city, I found Dr. Rosner. He made me feel as if I were his only patient on my first visit and each one there after. My surgery was successful and 11 weeks post op I am pain free and feeling wonderful. He and his staff are 5 star all the way around.

God bless Dr. Michael; Rosner and his excellent assistant Jennifer Harris, for taking the time to accommodate me on short notice, on several occasions. He is by far one of the finest neurosurgeons in the greater Washington, DC metropolitan area. He will be performing a revision surgery on my spine as soon as my knee heals from an accidental injury in June 2016. He came highly recommended to me by my surgeon at Duke University Medical Center and he took the time to go over my films with me and explain to me exactly what my problem is and how he was going to correct the situation. He is wonderful!

Both Dr. Rosner and his assistant Jennifer Harris are wonderful. Really top-notch, great to work with, make medicine, especially neurosurgery, easy to understand and not stressful. He is extremely well qualified, ultimate doctor that explains and answers questions, exudes confidence and skills that you want in a surgeon.
George Washington University is lucky to have both of them as they represent the best there is in medicine and patient care today in Washington, DC.
