About Dr. Michael Schowalter
Dr. Michael Schowalter is the medical director of our dermatopathology lab. He also practices medical dermatology at our Lombard and Naperville locations. Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Dr. Schowalter is a graduate of Dartmouth College and Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University. He completed his medical training in dermatology and dermatopathology at the Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Schowalter is an accomplished researcher and has been published numerous times in the field of cutaneous oncology.
Dr. Schowalter’s passion is the diagnosis and treatment of inflammatory skin diseases such as psoriasis and atopic dermatitis. When he is not in the clinic or at the microscope, Dr. Schowalter is cheering on the Steelers or spending time with his one-year-old son, Henry in the western Suburbs of Chicago.

Five stars! Dr Showalter was great as well were the nurse and Matt the trainee. I did have an 11:15 appointment and no one was at the front desk until 11:33. I was calling from the front desk to say I was here and nobody answered office phone. I was just about to leave when receptionist came out. Could use a sign saying be right back, on lunch, restroom. A line of two other people formed behind me at that point. But the Receptionist couldn't be better. All in all a great experience will highly recommend your practice!

Dr. Schowalter was very friendly and knowledgeable! Also, very respectful during my full body skin screening as it can feel a little personal. He also offered a complimentary freezing for a dark spot of concern on my face, which did appear to lighten in a bit. Only downside was that he was a bit rushed, but he did address all my concerns/answer all my questions.

The staff was great - very patient with me as a first time visitor. Everyone was extremely courteous and professional. Dr. Schowalter did a thorough exam and explained in detail what the issues were as well as the choices of treatment. I was very impressed.
