About Dr. Michael Winters

Dr. Winters enjoys working with patients of all ages and backgrounds to promote a well-balanced life. His special areas of interest include pediatrics, sports medicine, and preventive medicine to help his patients achieve their optimal health. He prides himself in being thorough and strives to make appointments informative and fun for kids and adults alike. Dr. Winters chose family medicine to build lasting relationships with his patients as they navigate the complex medical system. He acquired his undergraduate degree from Wartburg College. He later on went to Des Moines University to further explore medicine and finished his residency at Broadlawns Medical Center - University of Iowa. As a now practicing Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, he combines his passion for wellness with his love for the outdoors. When not working with his patients, he spends his free time boating, hiking, and camping with his wife, children, and dogs. Michael is a strong advocate of holistically maintaining balance in terms of one's mind, body, and spirit – ”When one of those areas becomes misaligned, the whole body suffers.” He believes in the power of making small incremental changes to achieve this balance and improve one’s every aspect of life.
