About Dr. Michele Burgess
Dr. Burgess’s interest in dermatology stems from her own struggle with acne as a teenager. She’s experienced firsthand the frustration of over-the-counter products that don’t work and misleading advice from the cosmetics counters and advertisements.
Now, as a board-certified dermatologist, Dr. Burgess is able to help people understand the unique factors influencing the condition of their skin, including genetics, hormones and using improper products. She enjoys treating patients of all ages and specializes in a wide range of conditions and treatments, offering everything from cosmetic treatments to skin cancer screenings and wart treatments.
Dr. Burgess grew up in Canada. She has come to New York where she has family roots by way of the Midwest. She completed her medical degree at Wayne State University and then completed her residency training at the Henry Ford Health System.
Prior to joining The Dermatology Specialists, Dr. Burgess was running Loop Dermatology and Acne Care Center for more than five years. While at Loop Dermatology, she built a practice with the goal of creating an intimate environment where patients can get the best possible care with a personalized touch. Bringing her strong background in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology to an intimate and professional setting, she provides patient-oriented treatment plans tailored to suit your individual needs.

The office was new and clean, but the staff were not the warmest upon checkin. There were also quite a few people in the lobby that all came in within 5 mins or so of each other. Waited in the lobby for 15-20 mins before being called back, then waited another 10 mins before the nurse came to check my information and ask me to change into a gown. Then another 10-15 before the doctor came in… so overall the wait was too long. That said the doctor was very nice and answered any questions that I had, then checking out was quick and easy.

Very efficiently run office, although I was also took the first appointment slot of the day. Only went in for an annual skin exam though.

Dr. Burgess is amazing. Her bedside manner is great, she listens to you. Takes her time, doesn't rush the appointment like some other doctors do. The only complaint I have is the front desk, the ladies need some more training. They were polite just very slow.
