About Dr. Michelle Liu
Dr. Michelle Liu is board certified by The American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. She is also a fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy, specializing in the comprehensive management of allergy and inflammatory disease in the ears, nose and throat.
Dr. Liu is an alumna of the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and earned a Master’s in Public Health from the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health. She completed Otolaryngology residency training at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, VA and served as a physician in the United States Navy for 21 years.
Dr. Liu has been a healthcare C-suite leader for several years, serving as President of the Medical Staff and on various committees with a focus on Quality Improvement and Patient Safety. Her passion for teaching and mentoring has focused on coaching healthcare providers in patient-centered communication and leadership.
Dr. Liu has expertise in diagnosing and treating adults and children who experience the unrelenting symptoms associated with allergy and inflammatory conditions, which can be an additional burden affecting quality of life in the Northern Virginia region. She listens carefully and works diligently to tailor her medical and/or surgical approach according to the patient’s individual needs.
In her spare time, Dr. Liu enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, her church family, volunteering as a USA Swimming Official, international travel, and her newly-discovered love of outdoor gardening.

The staff was exceptional. Everyone was very friendly, extremely accommodating, and knowledgeable. I have been utilizing the practice for over 25 years for various issues. They are always polite and professional, and medically correct! In this instance, Dr. Liu prescribed a nasal spray that has changed my life over the past year. It has allowed me to sleep without snoring or difficulty breathing. Truly amazing!

Competent, capable, experienced and knowledgeable Dr Liu reviewed available records and referral order before the appointment, commendable these days; conducted physical examination to confirm scan results; provided an evidence-based assessment of the situation; and, provided a logical, test results-based follow-up plan. OA Chantilly presented as a well-organized office with smoothly executed work flow, especially from a first visit perspective.
On the other hand, the sub-contracted appointment process via ZocDoc; medical record keeping via the Healow portal; practice, CV, billing and patient account information via the entmds.net site; and, the ensuing flood of emails concerning appointments, pre-visit form information requirements, and solicitation/ads from multiple allied business relations speaks to an incomplete work in process, or administrative overreach, resulting in a plethora of new email, office, business, and medical info contacts for patient mgmt.

Although this was the first time I met with Dr. Liu but I thought she was an excellent doctor. Extremely knowledgeable and kind. Explained my issues very clearly. My only frustration was the wait period which seems to be an on going issue with seeing any doctor these days. But I would 100% recommend her and would definitely see her again if needed.

The doctor is super nice, but she was clearly overwhelmed—she forgot things I had just mentioned and confused me with other patients. The office was a little disorganized. My appointment was at 10:40; I arrived at 10:15, was called into the doctor’s office at 10:50, and then waited over 30 minutes for the doctor to come in.
She recommended that I schedule an appointment with the allergist in the same office, but when I went to the front desk, they said they couldn’t schedule it because the person who performs the tests was no longer going to be working there. A little disappointed!
