“I was glad to get an appointment within a reasonable time frame. At the office, I was seen right away and barely had to wait to get my hand x-rays and see Dr. Moyer.
The doctor came right in and shared information about my hand. There were multiple issues and much for me to process, but because the meeting with the doctor felt rushed, I would have wanted to discuss about why surgery wasn't an option for repairing my ruptured tendon. She said, "No surgery.", but didn't take the time to explain why. I left the appointment feeling overwhelmed and dissatisfied about understanding why surgery wasn't an option.
As good as getting into the appointment in a timely manner was, the downside was not having enough time for the doctor to personally discuss the factors of not having surgery. I felt the doctor was too abrupt.
I have met with the doctor before and have found her to be skilled and knowledgeable in her field. Hopefully, more processing time can be included into her visits.”

Michelle Moyer, M.D., is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in surgical and non-surgical treatment of the hand, wrist and elbow. She earned her medical degree from Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, MD and completed her orthopedic internship and residency at Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii. She went on to complete a hand surgery fellowship at Walter Reed Army Medical Center/Union Memorial Hospital in Washington DC.
Dr. Moyer is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and has a sub-specialty certification in surgery of the hand. She has authored and co-authored several abstract publications focusing on various aspects of orthopedic surgery.
