Her educational background includes a Master of Science in Nursing from Regis University, and prior to that, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Baylor University, where she graduated top of her class.
Michelle’s journey towards functional medicine began with her own health challenges and the frustration with traditional medicine failing to address the root causes of her symptoms/condition. She was fortunate to find answers within functional and integrative medicine that helped her heal and thus began a personal and professional journey towards how she could help others through functional medicine. For four years she was fortunate to train under, and then later practice with a functional medicine doctor and a nurse practitioner in Aurora, Colorado who were practicing primary care and internal medicine from a functional medicine lens.
Her specialties and areas of interest include general primary care and managing chronic disease, gut health (including leaky gut/GERD/dysbiosis), autoimmune disease (especially thyroid disease), cardiovascular health, hormone replacement therapy and metabolic disease/weight loss. She utilizes nutrition, exercise, lifestyle changes, supplements, hormone replacement therapy, research, and medications when appropriate to help patients to achieve their health goals.
