Family medicine resonates with me because it allows me to care for patients across all stages of life, build lasting relationships, and support a close-knit community. I'm especially drawn to educating patients and empowering them to take an active role in their health. I believe good care starts with listening and effective communication. I take a thorough approach, carefully considering options and explaining my reasoning so patients can make confident, collaborative decisions about their care. I am proud to be affiliated with several professional organizations, including the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), the North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants (NCAPA), and the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA). I am also a member of Phi Kappa Phi and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Outside of medicine, I enjoy a full and active life centered around family, movement, and my love for animals. I'm happily married to my high school sweetheart, and we share our home with two energetic dogs who keep life fun. Raised by my grandparents, I carry with me the values of discipline, resilience, and service instilled by my grandfather, a proud veteran. Before pursuing medicine, I was a competitive dancer, and I still enjoy dancing, staying active, and exploring new places with my husband. Time with family and friends is incredibly important to me, and I love trying new things and creating lasting memories.
