“I do not, overall, have anxiety about medical appointments. However, I do have a pretty extreme needle/blood phobia that creates some baselevel anticipation anxiety and makes me hesitant to agree to routine testing, vaccines, etc. This was my first time with Mikayla Surina and, out of my entire adult experience with medical professions, she by far did the best job of putting me at ease, listening to my concerns, and taking a collaborative approach to encouraging me to follow-through with the testing and vaccines recommended. I left my appointment feeling hopeful that, as her patient, I might be able to keep up with routine well-care without the avoidance and dread I have typically experienced.”

I feel listened to and cared for. Any concerns I may have, I feel will be addressed and not ignored. Any questions I have, have always been answered and informative, without being condescending or dismissive. She is always kind and detailed.

She really cares and will ensure that you are heard and listened to. She takes a person's concerns seriously and aims to support the person in the journey to find answers or help the situation. Even if it is more than what she can do she will support the person in finding the answers. She will also problem solve with the person.

I was there for a pre-op checkup prior to cataract surgery. The nurse practitioner was ready to clear me, but I told her I needed an EKG. She listened to me, checked the order and realized I was correct. I had the EKG right away. She also ordered some blood work, which I had done the next day.
