About Mikayla Haines
Mikayla Haines, MPAS, PA-C, is a board-certified physician assistant with a strong passion for both medical and cosmetic dermatology. Originally from Southern California, she moved to Austin, Texas in 2014 to attend the University of Texas on a full-ride scholarship to play for the Women’s Soccer team. She served as team captain for three of her four years before graduating with honors with a Bachelor of Science in psychology major and a chemistry minor. She then pursued her Master of Physician Assistant Studies at Franklin Pierce University in Arizona, where she was inducted into the Alpha Chi National Honors Society and ranked at the very top of her class.
Mikayla’s journey in dermatology began at Westlake Dermatology, where she worked as a medical assistant before PA school. During her PA education, she returned to Westlake Dermatology to complete multiple clinical rotations with top-level providers. She values creating individualized and patient-centered treatment plans tailored to each patient’s unique needs while prioritizing trust, rapport, and respect during every interaction. She believes in empowering her patients by ensuring they feel heard, understood, and actively involved in their care.
Currently, Mikayla works at the Round Rock location alongside her attending Dr. Fareesa Sandoval, where she continues to expand her expertise in both medical and cosmetic dermatology. Her clinical interests include acne management, injectables, and preventative skin care, with a commitment to delivering natural, results-driven treatments. She is actively involved in the Society of Dermatology Physician Associates, through which she is currently pursuing a medical dermatology fellowship.
Outside of work, Mikayla enjoys staying active through strength training, spending time outdoors on the lake, and traveling with her husband. She has a love for animals, especially her cat, Kobe, and her two dogs, Bleu and Bella.
