Misty McNabb is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). She received her nursing education from the University of Texas at Arlington and Texas Woman’s University. Her training was completed at UT Southwestern and John Peter Smith Hospital.
Misty also has an MBA in Healthcare Administration from Western Governors University. She has worked in mental health since she began her nursing career in 2012 and has worked in a variety of settings including long-term care, group homes, inpatient, PHP/IOP, and private practice.

What is your typical process for working with clients?
Once an appointment is booked, please expect a call from the office to schedule a New Patient Evaluation to determine diagnoses (if any)...
After that determination, I will get a history, assess your symptoms, and then we would discuss a treatment plan that may or may not include medication, supplements, nutrition, psychotherapy, environmental changes, and/or lab work. Depending on the diagnosis and treatment, a 20-30 minute follow-up appointment is usually within 2-4 weeks after the initial appointment.

Ms. McNabb is really good at listening, validating what you are saying, and expressing sympathy, and then offering a response and tips about what, if anything, she would advise you to do differently. I’d feel good about recommending her to a friend or even to my own (all adult) children.

I was surprised by her ability to overcome anxiety and panic-related issues surrounding new providers. She was skilled in safely navigating barriers I normally put in place until I’ve developed a working relationship with providers. I was quickly comfortable discussing personal topics on the first visit. Which didn’t set off a lot of panic. I was appreciative of the same-day appointment. It gave me a lot less time to overthink, fear, and dread the appointment. She was professional, relatable, and very skilled with anxiety. Missy is the most comforting and understanding provider I’ve met with. Before coming to Missy I would dread appointments because unfortunately so many providers are cold, dismissive, or even worse - give you wrong information. Missy has been nothing but kind, patient, and understanding. She really does create such a safe place for her patients.

Misty is bar far the BEST provider I’ve met with. There were things that previous providers weren’t fully transparent about that Misty walked me through. This was the most comfortable and supported I’ve felt. I moved states and my company changed their insurance so I’ve met my few count of providers, Misty really listened and is the first to show she genuinely cares.
