Getting to know Mitsou Philogene

I value building meaningful therapeutic relationships and working together with patients toward emotional wellness, stability, and improved quality of life. My goal is to help each patient feel more balanced, empowered, and supported throughout their healing journey. My approach combines thoughtful medication management with supportive therapy, education, and practical coping strategies tailored to each individual’s needs and goals. I understand that seeking help can sometimes feel overwhelming, and I strive to create a calm, welcoming environment where patients feel safe discussing their concerns openly. I offer convenient telehealth appointments with flexible scheduling and look forward to being part of your care. I am a dual board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner with over a decade of healthcare and advanced nursing experience. I am dedicated to providing warm, compassionate, and personalized mental health care to adults navigating anxiety, depression, mood disorders, stress, life transitions, and other emotional challenges. I believe mental health care should feel supportive, collaborative, and free of judgment, allowing patients to feel comfortable, heard, and genuinely cared for.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I provide compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care with a focus on collaboration, respect, and individualized treatment. My approach combines medication management, supportive therapy, and education to help patients better understand their symptoms and achieve their mental health goals. During our first appointment, I take time to learn about your concerns, history, and treatment goals so we can create a personalized plan together. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, trauma-related concerns, stress, and sleep difficulties. My goal is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered throughout your treatment journey.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process begins with a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation designed to gain a thorough understanding of your mental health concerns, personal history, current symptoms, lifestyle factors, and treatment goals. I believe that effective psychiatric care starts with listening, so I take time to understand your unique experiences and the challenges that have brought you to treatment. During the initial appointment, we will review your psychiatric, medical, social, and family history, discuss any previous treatments, and explore factors that may be affecting your emotional well-being. If appropriate, I may recommend laboratory testing, coordination with other healthcare providers, psychotherapy referrals, or additional assessments to ensure an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan. Treatment is highly individualized and may include medication management, supportive therapy, psychoeducation, stress-management techniques, lifestyle modifications, and practical coping strategies. My goal is not only to reduce symptoms but also to help you improve your overall quality of life, daily functioning, relationships, and sense of well-being. Follow-up appointments focus on monitoring your progress, reviewing symptom changes, evaluating medication effectiveness, addressing side effects, and making adjustments when needed. I encourage open communication and collaboration throughout the treatment process, and I welcome questions so that you feel informed and confident in your care. I work with adults experiencing anxiety disorders, depression, mood disorders, ADHD, trauma-related concerns, stress, sleep difficulties, and other mental health conditions. Whether you are seeking treatment for the first time or returning to care after a period away, I strive to provide a supportive, compassionate, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel heard, respected, and empowered. My approach combines evidence-based psychiatric treatment with a warm, patient-centered style. Together, we w
