Getting to know Dr. Modesta Onyia
Modesta Onyia is a doctoral-prepared nurse practitioner focused on nursing practice and family medicine. She is also a certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, having received her certification from Liberty University. Her clinical interests include health promotion and disease prevention for patients across the lifespan. She has been practicing since 2013.
Modesta completed her bachelor's degree in nursing at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and earned a Master of Nursing Science degree in Family Nurse Practitioner (Cum laude) from Texas Woman's University in 2013. She further advanced her education by completing her Doctor of Nursing Practice at Texas Woman's University in Dallas, TX, in 2018.
Modesta has worked in various settings, including inpatient and outpatient care. She is a certified CPR instructor and a Functional Medicine graduate at SAFM. She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, North Texas Nurse Practitioners, and the National Association of Nigeria Nurse Practitioners US, among others.
