About Dr. Molly Warthan
Molly M. Warthan, M.D. is a board-certified dermatologist who grew up in Nacogdoches, Texas. Her father and sister are also both dermatologists. Dr. Warthan graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. Following college, she attended medical school at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas, where she graduated with Honors. She completed her dermatology residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia, and then completed a fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery in Tallahassee, Florida, where she completed over 4,000 surgery cases.
Dr. Warthan pioneered the research that determined that many individuals can become physically addicted to tanning or being in the sun. She received worldwide recognition for this research, appearing on the NBC TODAY show and numerous newspapers, including the New York Times and the Washington Post. Additionally, she has several papers that are published in numerous dermatology medical journals. Dr. Warthan has also participated in numerous FDA clinical trials, helping new medications to be approved for use in the USA. In particular, she has participated in clinical trials involving Botox, the biologic medications for psoriasis, and acne medications.
Dr. Molly Warthan specializes in Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery. She is respected by her peers as a very excellent skin cancer surgeon and strives to provide the best possible dermatologic care for her patients. She continues to be committed to the cutting edge of dermatology care. Her office offers a warm, friendly environment where the patient will feel at ease and comfortable while they are receiving the best care possible and the most accurate care for treating their skin cancers.
Dr. Warthan is also committed to volunteering her time in Melanoma Monday, which is sponsored each year by the American Academy of Dermatology.
