“Easily the best psychiatrist I’ve ever been to. Extremely kind and empathetic, she knows her medicine and she cares about her patients. She’ll go out of her way to listen and get to know you. Working with her is very personal, it’s not the get in and get out experience I’ve had with most doctors. You won’t find anyone better than Dr. Baidya”

Getting to know Dr. Moni Baidya

Dr. Moni Baidya is double board-certified in adult and geriatric psychiatry. She has been practicing for over 9 years. She strongly believes developing a good therapeutic rapport with a patient is an important milestone in starting any treatment. Dr. Baidya’s practice focuses on medication management. Normally, she combines this in conjunction with supportive or psychodynamic therapy in 20–30-minute follow-up visits. However, Dr. Baidya may believe that additional therapy is crucial and advise you to bring a therapist on board to provide the best outcome. Dr. Baidya received her medical degree from Manipal college of medical sciences. She completed her psychiatry residency training and geriatric fellowship training at University of Virginia, Charlottesville. Her interest in therapy has led to her gaining experience about psychodynamic, CBT, supportive and couple’s therapy. After completing the training at the University of Virginia, she worked in a nursing home, an acute rehabilitation center treating diverse patient population and an inpatient and outpatient setting. She has experience treating various psychiatric conditions not limited to mood disorder, anxiety disorder, OCD, PTSD and dementia with behavioral problems. Dr. Baidya has worked with several patients with complex medical problems that affect the patient’s emotional health. This led her to believe in holistic care and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team and family members when possible. In addition to general adulty psychiatry, Dr. Baidya is also board certified in Geriatric Psychiatry and trained in women’s health. Her primary clinical focus has been treating women with mood and anxiety disorder and geriatric patients with new onset of psychiatric problem.

Because we accept insurance, we can reduce out-of-pocket expenses and still offer high-quality care. You may not have any cost related to your visit with us, depending upon your insurance plan. Most patients pay a small copay per visit, subject to any deductible or coinsurance that your health plan has. The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services determines appropriate billing guidelines. These guidelines depend on the length of the visit and the complexity and severity of your diagnosis. For this reason, we need to wait until after the visit for the final determination. We then submit the claim to your insurance company. The charges are calculated based upon pre-negotiated prices with your insurance company. Your insurance company will then determine what amount, if any, is your responsibility per your insurance plan.

Truly, I'll boil it down: there are few with as much knowledge/experience/capability as her; and I have never worked with someone as empathetic, understanding, and someone so willing to stick up for you even when you don't feel like doing that yourself.
The provider was very knowledgeable and helpful.
