Getting to know Dr. Monica Stout

My approach to promoting health and wellness is by providing holistic and comprehensive healthcare for individuals and families across all ages, genders, diseases, and body systems. My philosophy of patient care is to provide the highest level of evidence-based quality care to my patients, their families, and the communities that I serve. I believe in treating each and every person as a whole being. I am a dually board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner. I began my journey in the medical field in 2002 as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Over the years, I continued my education, earning an Associate Degree as an RN at Olive Harvey College in Chicago; a Bachelor’s degree, Master’s in Nursing, and Master’s in Family Nursing at Governors State University; and a Master’s in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing at Northern Kentucky University. My FNP training includes psychiatric and mental health, obstetrics and gynecology, family, pediatrics, geriatrics, and hospice/end-of-life care. I was precepted by some of the top board-certified physicians at Northwestern Hospital, The University of Chicago Hospital, and numerous clinics in underserved communities in Chicago and Texas. I am dedicated to continuing my passion for providing quality mental health care.
