About Dr. Moushumi Sanghavi
PLEASE ADVISE: Dr. Moushumi Sanghavi does NOT treat pediatric patients (patients under the age of 18).
Dr. Moushumi Sanghavi treats all aspects of gastrointestinal and liver disease but her areas of clinical interest are irritable bowel syndrome and inflammatory bowel disease. As one of a few female gastroenterologists in Manhattan, she has considerable experience with diseases characterized by female predominance. She is fluent in medical Spanish and welcomes Spanish speaking patients.
Dr. Moushumi Sanghavi performs diagnostic and therapeutic upper endoscopy and colonoscopy. She also performs nonsurgical treatment of internal hemorrhoids with infrared coagulation and endoscopic banding.
Dr. Moushumi Sanghavi received her bachelor of arts from Yale University. She attended medical school at the New York University School of Medicine and completed her Internal Medicine residency at Mount Sinai Hospital. She received her Gastroenterology training at Montefiore Medical Center in New York City. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. She is the Associate Medical Director of East Side Endoscopy, a state-of-the-art ambulatory surgical center. She is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the Amercian Gastroenterological Association and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. She is affiliated with Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City.
