These are just some of the symptoms that can be treated at Esteem Psychiatry. Accurate diagnosis is key to getting you back to enjoying life again. I offer medication management and psychotherapy to help you identify your unique goals and provide encouragement and guidance throughout your journey. Musifat "Moe" Akanji-Newton treats a variety of mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, psychosis, postpartum depression, and schizoaffective disorder. She believes in caring for the whole person and offers medication management and psychotherapy with the patient's goals in mind. Musifat holds a Master's in Nursing from the University of Texas, Houston, which informs her comprehensive approach to mental health care.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach is warm, compassionate, affirming and straight-forward. I work with the client to get to the root of their mental health issues to help them reach their personal goals.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I complete a comprehensive psychiatric assessment to make an accurate diagnosis and work with the client to explore and explain medication options and psychotherapy.
