Getting to know Dr. Nabil Kotbi

I became a psychiatrist because I believe every person deserves to be truly understood, and understanding takes time. Over 25 years of practice, I’ve seen how often patients are rushed through short appointments, given a diagnosis and a prescription without anyone taking the time to know who they are. I built my practice differently. I don’t work within the time limits set by insurance companies. When you come to see me, I take as long as I need to understand your history, your symptoms, your life, and what you hope to accomplish. I am Quintuple board-certified psychiatrist. This broad training lets me look at the whole picture, including how your brain, body, and life circumstances connect, rather than treating symptoms in isolation. I work with adults and older adults facing depression, anxiety, OCD, ADHD, trauma, bipolar disorder, treatment-resistant and Addictions conditions. My approach starts with a comprehensive evaluation. Your first appointment is a full, unhurried evaluation, not a rushed intake. I take the time to understand your history, your concerns, your goals, and what “better” looks like for you. From there, we build your treatment plan together, specialized and tailored to exactly what you need. Depending on what’s right for you, this may include medication management, psychotherapy, TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation), ketamine or NAD+ infusions, Spravato®, ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP), or a thoughtful combination of treatments. My goal is simple: that you leave every visit feeling heard, understood, and clear about the path forward.

More information on payments and coverage

We are a private-pay practice by choice. Insurance companies limit how much time doctors can spend with patients and which treatments they can offer. By staying independent, we can give you the time and care you actually need. What private pay means for you: • Visits are never rushed. Dr. Kotbi takes as much time as he needs • Your treatment plan is based on your needs, not insurance rules • More privacy, because no diagnosis is shared with an insurer unless you choose to submit for reimbursement Fees: • Initial comprehensive evaluation (60-90 min.): $1,500 • Follow-up visits (30–45 min.): $750 Out-of-network reimbursement: After each visit we can provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. We recommend calling your insurer beforehand to ask about your out-of-network mental health benefits.
