About Dr. Nabila Noor
Philosophy of care
I work with patients to develop a treatment plan that is evidence based and helps improve quality of life. I want my patients to know that there is help available and make them feel comfortable. Every patient is different and we need to individualize care. I love seeing their reactions when we discuss different treatment options. It is not uncommon for patients to come back to my office and tell me, “I wish I had done this earlier".
Why I entered medicine
I was inspired by my grandfather who was a Professor of Medicine in Bangladesh. I knew I wanted to be in a profession where I could have an immediate impact on others. I developed an interest in women's health during my education at Smith College. This led to me doing a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology. I decided to further specialize in Urogynecology because of its challenging nature. Our field has largely evolved into a minimally invasive technique. These new technologies allow patients to have a faster recovery.
Community involvement
I volunteered with a group of gynecological surgeons on a trip to Bangladesh where we took care of women suffering from severe pelvic organ prolapse. It was during these trips that I decided to specialize in Urogynecology. We were also involved in educating both the patients and the community. Our group, "A Stitch in Time," has made four trips to Bangladesh since. I have visited the island of Cape Verde to help women suffering from pelvic floor disorders.
Personal interests
My husband and I love to travel, experience new cultures and meet new people. We love to cook and try new ethnic cuisines. I also enjoy yoga and spending time with family and friends.
