About Dr. Nancy Chang

In her youth, Nancy Ann Chang, DO, spent a summer volunteering in India for Unite for Sight, which supports eye clinics worldwide. One encounter with a villager and his son made a lifelong impression and inspired her to pursue a career in family medicine. “I am motivated by that father and son and by all my future patients,” says Dr. Chang. “I use my training and knowledge so that one day, when it’s not a patient’s best day, they will look up and feel reassured when I tell them that I’ll be taking care of them.” Dr. Chang’s ultimate goal for her patients is a simple one: “Getting healthier,” she says. “I believe anyone can achieve self-improvement, and I want to help patients on their lifetime journeys of health and wellness.” Dr. Chang takes her patients’ lifestyles and values into account and works with them toward their goals. “I think of myself as an advisor and advocate,” she says. “As a medical provider, I have the privilege of sharing their struggles, sorrows, successes, and happiness.” Dr. Chang holds bachelor’s degrees in art history and biological sciences from the University of Southern California. She completed her medical degree at Western University of Health Sciences and her internship and residency at McLaren Oakland in Michigan. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Dr. Chang loves traveling and has visited 30 countries on six continents. An avid hiker, she recently completed a trip to Everest Base Camp on Mount Everest.
