This place is a hazard. I booked my appointment for a simple blood draw for a blood test. I arrived at the end of the day so the doctor was going home and the receptionist said she could do my blood draw ( I thought weird, but ok fine places sometimes have the medical techs do both). She was clearly sick and was coughing a lot, and took me into one of the exam rooms where she didn't wash her hands and then put on gloves but continued to touch the computer and her clothes. She then grabbed all the blood draw supplies and dropped them on the seat of the fabric bench I was sitting on. I asked her if she could change her gloves and use a sanitary surface. She asked me if I was supposed to take the blood because she didn't know what to do with it. Several days later, they still hadn't shipped the blood to the lab. When the lab finally received it over a week later, they couldn't even use it because it was unlabeled. Something so simple and yet not one thing was handled properly. Terrible.

Had 10am appointment, the assistant or the office administrator was late for 15mins that sick patients had to wait outside in cold. When she rushed over and opened door, there was no single explanation given on why she was late to her “the urgent care” job, nor any apologies. Then she proceeded to check me in, saying how I booked the wrong location (not true) but she will squeeze me in as if she was doing me a favor. I’ve been to this location several times only because it’s the closest, and every single time it disappoints. Doctors are okay, administrative staffs and assistants are HORRIBLE.

During my appointment, I needed to be swabbed for a rapid strep test, but the office had run out of rapid strep tests. I would not have booked this location if I had known they were out of the exact test I needed. In addition, the person who swabbed my nose and throat for other ailments barely touched my nose and back of my throat, so I am not sure if I got false negatives or if the tests were actually negative. Someone in my house had the flu, and I had flu symptoms, but the test for me was negative.

I woke up feeling ill and made an appointment at NAO in Long Island city, just up the block for 11am. I arrived at 1055am and it was totally locked and closed, even though the website said it was open. I waited (in the crazy heat) for ten minutes and returned home. I called NAO and they said that this morning that location is only “virtual” and would I be interested in going to the one up in Astoria. By that point, I was on my way to CityMD. In and out of there in 30 minutes with a diagnosis and a prescription.

My appointment was for 10am and I got there a little early. The office was open but no one was there and no lights were on. The couch looked like it needed to be cleaned and there was trash on the floor. When the NA arrived she looked surprised that the door was open and I was there. She was very nice and helpful. When I went to use the restroom it was very dirty and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a few days. The exam room was clean and they were expedient.
