He has done pro bono medical work, including helping to start a platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatment clinic in Tanzania. He also serves as a clinical preceptor for Cornell and Columbia medical students and as a mentor for students worldwide, culminating in his award as the inaugural "Michael O'Dell Mentor of the Year."
