899 Skokie Blvd, Ste 260, Northbrook, IL
Natalie Pawlowski, APRN, PMHNP-BC, SANE-A is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner at Relief Mental Health in Northbrook, Illinois. She provides psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and SPRAVATO® (esketamine) treatment for patients across the lifespan, with clinical focus areas in anxiety, trauma, and PTSD. Her years as an emergency room registered nurse and advanced training as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE-A) have shaped a practice style that is calm and deeply attuned to patients in vulnerable moments. Natalie treats a broad range of diagnoses including anxiety, depression, MDD, OCD, and other diagnoses, with a trauma-informed lens applied across all aspects of her care. Natalie believes every patient deserves to feel safe, heard, and empowered. She creates a warm, validating space for individuals who feel overwhelmed, unsure how to manage intrusive thoughts, persistent worry, or heavy mood symptoms. Through thorough evaluation, evidence-based medication management, and supportive therapy, she works to give patients the clarity and relief they're looking for, and back to feeling like themselves again. For patients hesitant to reach out, Natalie understands that vulnerability. Whether someone is navigating a new diagnosis or has struggled for years without the right fit, she meets them where they are and builds from there. Natalie earned her MSN from Lewis University and her BSN from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She holds additional certification as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner and Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN), and is an active member of the American Nurses Association and the National Association of Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners.

What should a new client know about working with you?

The first appointment will involve a review of personal history, including family dynamics, childhood experiences, relationships, and any significant life events as well as explore the reasons you sought services and the specific symptoms and challenges you are facing. Recommendations for care will be provided and together you’ll begin to develop a plan to achieve your goals and achieve symptom relief. Prior to your appointment, please complete and submit the intake form sent upon booking, or complete our digital intake form that will be sent to your email. You will receive additional, new patient paperwork via email. If this paperwork is not completed prior to your appointment, please arrive at least 15 minutes early to complete the required paperwork in-office.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Patients’ initial medication management evaluation is a crucial step towards understanding and addressing their mental health needs and typically involves a thorough assessment of their medical and psychiatric history. I will provide information about potential treatment options, including psychiatric medications, and explain the benefits, potential side effects, and risks associated with each. This discussion aims to engage the patient in the decision-making process, ensuring they actively participate in their treatment plan. Relief Mental Health is an outpatient provider of transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), psychedelic therapy (SPRAVATO® and IV Ketamine), psychiatric medication management, and talk therapy for the treatment of depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder and other mental health diagnoses. While our expertise is broad, there are certain mental health conditions and diagnoses that fall outside our scope of practice. Your initial appointment will be considered an intake appointment and will not guarantee a continued patient-provider relationship.
