Natalie Song, NP

Nurse Practitioner (Psychology)
1849 Sawtelle Blvd, Los Angeles, CA
I understand that the individual is the expert of their own life and also not just a diagnosis or a list of symptoms. I strive to understand the experiences that make up a person including previous trauma, relationships, social environment, spiritual life, and orientation. From the initial evaluation, my goal is to develop a collaborative relationship where the individual can explore all aspects of themselves in a meaningful, holistic way free of judgement. I try to foster an environment where they can gain insight into their unique personal challenges and develop the skills needed to manage the difficulties that life brings. I employ a combination of psychotherapy and, when indicated, medications to help my clients reach their goals of mental healing. I am a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner trained in the diagnosis of mental illnesses, psychotherapy, and medication management. I obtained my undergraduate degree in nursing from the University of Maryland and completed my psychiatric training at Columbia University in New York City. I have since moved to Los Angeles where I currently practice both in outpatient care and acute care within a local hospital’s emergency department. During my time as a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I have provided mental health services in a wide variety of settings including inpatient units, emergency departments, outpatient clinics, and skilled nursing facilities. While I have experience in treating a range of psychiatric conditions including depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, personality disorders, trauma-related disorders and schizophrenia spectrum disorders; I have special interests in working with adults dealing with life transitions, minority mental health, and individuals experiencing relationship problems. I am licensed to see patients virtually from the states of California and New York, and in person at my office in West Los Angeles, California. Also, I speak both English and Korean.
