Getting to know Natasha Montoya

Natasha Montoya, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner providing telepsychiatric care to adults in Arizona and Washington. She specializes in anxiety, depression, chronic illness–related mood concerns, burnout, and life transitions, particularly among high-functioning individuals. Her approach is collaborative and evidence-based, emphasizing comprehensive evaluation, thoughtful medication management, and steady, personalized care designed for long-term stability.

What should a new client know about working with you?

You can expect a calm, thoughtful, and collaborative environment. I believe psychiatric care should feel clear and steady rather than overwhelming. We work together to understand your goals, explore treatment options, and build a plan that supports long-term stability and resilience. At this time, insurance processing only available in AZ. All other states are self pay only. I do not prescribe controlled substances.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My typical process begins with a comprehensive initial evaluation (75–90 minutes), where we review your symptoms, medical history, current stressors, and treatment goals. I take time to understand the full context of what you’re experiencing before making any diagnostic or medication decisions. If medication is appropriate, we discuss options carefully and collaboratively. My approach emphasizes conservative, evidence-based prescribing and regular follow-up to monitor progress and make thoughtful adjustments. I do not prescribe controlled substances. Ongoing visits focus on symptom improvement, functional goals, and long-term stability.

I’m elderly and it’s sometimes hard to express myself but it was so easy to talk to Ms Montoya and I felt heard and so much better after. She is easy to talk to and seems to genuinely care.
I have a lot of anxiety with the world the way it’s been. Past childhood trauma. Having someone as caring and full of suggestions makes the world of difference. It helps to have someone to talk to who really listens. Professional and friendly! I highly recommend her services to anyone who needs that encouragement and help to get by. A+ for sure!
