About Dr. Nathan Douglass
Dr. Douglass received a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, where he worked as a research assistant in the departments of chemical and biological engineering. He obtained his Medical Degree from the College of Physicians & Surgeons at Columbia University, New York, New York. He completed his Internship and Residency at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California, where he was awarded the Chief Resident Research Award from the Orthopedic Surgery Department. Dr. Douglass completed a Hand and Upper Limb Fellowship at Stanford University, Departments of Orthopedic and Plastic Surgery. Dr. Douglass is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and the American Association for Hand Surgery. He has authored 20 clinical studies, textbook chapters, abstracts, posters and presentations, as well as directed and edited a video production on hand surgery.

This doctor practically eye-rolled me when I explained what was going on. FTR, I don't have any health issues other than this new pain in my arms/shoulder/hand. I am healthy and active. I had been experiencing worse symptoms when I booked the appointment and some of them had subsided so I probably didn't describe the issue as clearly as I could have. I wasn't looking for pain meds. I was simply looking for an answer after having been referred here from my GP. The doctor was dismissive, he grabbed my arm and started manipulating me relatively forcefully and basically said "don't do that" when I mentioned how I encountered the pain and said he could offer me PT with a laugh. It's fine if he couldn't treat me but he acted like I was making it up or was over exaggerating. I'm still experienceing pain so I guess I will wait until it is worse again and then find a less dismissive doctor.
