Getting to know Dr. Nathan Edmundson

Hi, I'm Dr. Nate. Do you find yourself feeling sad, empty, or unmotivated? Do you struggle with anxiety, anger, or behavior you just can't stop? Do you have a child who is struggling or a marriage that could be better? Life presents challenges, and sometimes we or the ones we love could use some extra help getting through those challenges successfully. For over fifteen years, I have provided therapy and psychological testing in a variety of settings—from private practices to doctors' offices, college counseling centers, and community mental health. I earned my PsyD in Mental Health Counseling from Azusa Pacific University. My approach combines the best of psychotherapy with Christian theology to help others live the abundant life found in Jesus. I believe the mind, body, and spirit all impact a person's functioning, and I strive to address those areas that may be limiting one's well-being.

What should a new client know about working with you?

During the first therapy session, I am collecting information that I believe is relevant to my client's identity and their presenting concerns. This typically involves collecting background information as well as asking questions to gain a better understanding of my client's hopes/expectations/goals for therapy. Often this session is spent with me asking questions and listening for information that will help me better understand how to approach intervention. The following sessions will be geared toward intervention and treatment of the presenting concerns.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
