Dr. Nwaka graduated from the renowned University of Benin Medical School in Nigeria and relocated to the United States to further her training. She completed her General Psychiatry Residency training program at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. She went on to complete a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship training program at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. She is a member of the American Psychiatric Association (APA) and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP). Dr. Nwaka is committed to providing care and restoring hope to individuals facing mental health challenges. She has extensive experience in treating various psychiatric conditions, utilizing the latest evidence and consensus-based approaches in providing medication management as well as psychotherapy services. Dr. Nwaka participates in local and international education programs promoting mental health awareness and reducing stigma. Outside of practicing medicine, Dr. Nwaka is very family-oriented. She is a great swimmer and enjoys walking, listening to music, and traveling.
