Dr. Varshney was born and raised in Sikkim, India. She graduated from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, where she obtained her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree.
Dr. Varshney completed her internship in internal medicine, and residency in psychiatry at the Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center/Weill Medical College of Cornell University, and Mount Sinai School of Medicine/ Elmhurst Hospital Center, both in New York City. She then went on to complete a fellowship in forensic psychiatry at the University of Massachusetts Medical School Worcester, Massachusetts, Department of Law and Psychiatry.
Dr. Varshney has spent the last few years at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where she has held academic, administrative and clinical roles.
Dr. Varshney's research interests include women's health, informed consent, emergency psychiatry, acculturation issues, risk assessments, therapeutic jurisprudence, and corporate fraud.
She is Board Certified in General Psychiatry, Addiction Medicine and Forensic Psychiatry.

For those who may not know how much Dr Varshney cares about her patients; I lost my close family member recently and the moment Dr Varshney heard about it she reached out right away late in the evening to offer her condolences & support. Her comforting words meant a world to me and I will never forget her kind gesture.
Few days later I had very good session with her and I left feeling at peace, Thanks to her encouraging words and kindness..

She really listened and got right down to the heart of the problem. Trust is an important part of a relationship with a therapist and I developed trust with her within 10 minutes. Not easy for an agoraphobe. If it is hard for you to develop trust with people give this doctor a chance.

Dr. Varshney is always available if needed, amazing easy to schedule with and very knowledgeable about her field. She takes extra time when needed to make sure you understand the reasoning and science behind her diagnosis and treatment plan and recommendations.
I have benefited so much from working with Dr. Varshney and trust her enough that I have even recommended family members see her. I highly recommend her to anyone who feels stuck or unheard with other psychiatrists or if you have tried 'everything' without anything working.

It is hard to describe the experience in few words... but she has such a positive aura & energy around her, very calming effect on me and it carries long time forward... she 's wise beyond her years...
I recommend seeing her especially during these challenging times;she is able to help restoring faith in yourself and doesn't hesitate to kick your butt a bit if she feels it is needed to get you back on the right track, honest people like her are 1 in a million nowadays, very lovable and caring person, her style works for me for sure..
