As I was growing up, we had a young doctor in our neighborhood, and watching her care for people and the love she received from the community made a lasting impact on me. I wanted to be like her, and that's how my journey as a doctor began. During my nephrology rotation, seeing patients on dialysis felt like witnessing a scientific miracle. Although having kidney disease is overwhelming, there are many options, including dialysis and kidney transplant. This gives patients hope, allowing them to guide their future and actively participate in managing their condition. I believe empowering patients with knowledge helps them understand the cause of their kidney disease and learn ways to maintain kidney health for as long as possible. Patient care, respect, and relationship are the core elements of my practice. I completed my medical education at Government Medical College Jammu, earning a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery. I then pursued my residency in Internal Medicine at the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in Nephrology at the same institution.
