Thanks for your interest! When you book, I'll call you to discuss what conditions I see and don't see since trust is the bedrock of a good relationship. Please be available for the call. I'll also send you an email with practice policies because I also like knowing what to expect when I see a doctor.
I went to medical school at Case Western Reserve University, studied cultural psychiatry and anthropology at Harvard University, and trained at Yale University. I teach and conduct research at Columbia University on culture and mental health. I treat common problems, including:
depression
anxiety (panic attacks, performance anxiety, test anxiety)
attention deficit-hyperactivity
Many patients have problems with work, relationships, and identity that don't fit diagnoses like:
work stress and frustration
work-life imbalance (especially for people in finance or consulting)
low self esteem
adjusting to chronic medical conditions
setting expectations for new parents
transitions to retirement
problems with acculturation
LGBTQ concerns (identity, coming out)
When you come in, we'll complete a diagnostic assessment and treatment plan. We'll discuss if we can set up a doctor-patient relationship. I offer medications and cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, supportive, and psychodynamic psychotherapies.
Please don't book if you:
- need to pay by insurance (I only accept cash or check at each visit)
- want refills outside of appointments (it's convenient, but not safe)
- need a DOE independent psychiatric evaluation (please email me)

Dr. Aggarwal is extremely thorough and thoughtful in his care. He is very kind and attentive, intelligent, and super responsive to email with any questions I ever have. I am a psychiatrist at Columnbia University where Dr. Aggarwal also works. I refer to him routinely since he is on of the few people I trust who can mix psychotherapy and medication management. Many of us see him as a "psychiatrist's psychiatrist" and someone to turn to for great, practical advice.
