About Dr. Neil Julie
Doctor Neil Julie has been committed to providing the utmost in top quality care for this same local community since 1986. He has trained at America's top academic institutions. Neil Julie MD got his degree in medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City and was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society for academic excellence. He was a fellow in gastroenterology/hepatology at the University of Pennsylvania after completing a residency in internal medicine at U.C. San Francisco.
In addition to his busy practice, he has served as Chairman of the Department of gastroenterology and then Chairman of the Department of Medicine at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital. He has several times been chosen by Washingtonian Magazine as one of the DC Metro's ara Top Doctors. He and his wife raised their two sons here in Montgomery County.
He is a published and recognized expert in the area of drug-induced hepatotoxicity. He is a guest Editor of the World Journal of Hepatology.

At my first visit, Dr. Julie spent about 45 minutes taking my medical history, doing a general physical exam of my upper and lower abdomen, and discussing my symptoms. Then he explained what tests would best show the cause of my GI problems. He is calm, friendly, knowledgeable and very good at explaining difficult medical ideas. His broad experience is most obvious in his ability to evaluate what symptoms are most relevant and then present a plan of action.

Dr. Julie was very good and professional, but I don't trust the practice. Had his nurse practitioner do all follow-up with me, which I don't like. Made a follow-up appointment with Dr. Julie which was a waste of time and money - could have been a 5min phone call or even an email. Didn't even get to see the doc - the np saw me instead and nothing worthwhile came of it. The office was also a bit odd - doesn't feel very confidential. The desk where they take your vitals and ask personal "before you see the doc" questions is pretty much open to the waiting room, so you can hear what's going on. Don't like it which is sad because I do like Dr. Julie and think he is a good doc.

Needed a Gastroenterologist because of a recent move. They were ready to pickup from my last Doctor and made it a seamless process. This review is one day after the appointment and the medication is already helping. Additionally they are ready to schedule the additional testing I am due to receive. Dr. Julie and his team seem to be the right choice for me and I look forward to a long term Doctor-Patient relationship with them.

The staff, although busy, were friendly and attentive. The office is conveniently located. Parking is easy, as long as you resign yourself to a short walk (most spots close to the doors are taken, go around back for more spaces.) Dr. Julie has a very easy demeanor.

Dr. Julie is the best. He's patient and he cares about your overall health and wellness. I have been under Dr. Julie's care for over 5 years and I trust him as my doctor. His staff is friendly and professional. Susan and Edith are wonderful. Dr. Sung is great as well.
