About Dr. Nelson Lee Novick

Nelson Lee Novick, M.D., is a Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City, an Attending Physician, and a former OPD Clinic Chief within the department of dermatology at the Medical Center. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the same institution. Dr. Novick is board-certified in both internal medicine and dermatology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (FAAD) and a Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (FAACS).
Dr. Novick’s biography has been included in Who’s Who in America for more than two decades, and he has been listed in the Consumer Research Council of America’s Guide to America’s Top Physicians (2003–2006) and Guide to America’s Top Dermatologists (2007–2008). He has received awards for Excellence in Teaching, Outstanding Patient Care, and the American Academy of Dermatology’s prestigious Leadership Circle Award.
He has been the author and senior editor of numerous scientific articles, medical textbooks, and chapters. In addition, he has written nine trade books, over one hundred articles, and more than half a dozen audio tapes on skin care. He has by-lined for many popular magazines and newspapers, such as Good Housekeeping and Reader’s Digest.

Dr. Novick has helped me feel so much more confident about the scars on my nose after he performed a subsicion on them a year ago. He walked me through everything and made me feel very comfortable throughout each visit and I highly recommend him. He made sure to talk me out of procedures I did not need and there is no one else I would trust so highly with my face.

First of all, on my first visit I was very surprised on how much time Dr Novick spent with me. Never have I been seen for an hour by a dermatologist in NYC. Dr Novick patiently explained the procedure I was interested in. I left feeling confident that I would be in the best of care under someone with extensive knowledge and who’s a specialist in treating acne scars.

Dr. Novick is the best dermatologist that I know of, and, because of my acne scar journey, I am quite well-researched & knowledgeable of the field. He is the absolute best for scar revision, and he uses natural methods such as subcision & HA for natural results. Not only that, but he answers his personal email even on weekends, answering my skin-related questions. On top of all that, he is a kind, brilliant, compassionate, level-headed doctor. A true gem.
