i hadn’t had a psych session in over a year since leaving an IOP and going off meds, so i was nervous to get back into care. i booked with nene because she was one of the few providers who accepted my CA Covered insurance. the process was smooth with helpful texts and emails, and i was able to schedule a virtual appointment within two days.
she called a little early for our session, which caught me off guard, but it wasn’t a big issue. just something to note if you prefer things to start exactly on time.
in our session, she was kind, professional, and really listened. she took time to understand my history and was thoughtful about prescribing the same ADHD med and mood stabilizer i had used before. i appreciated that she did not push anything new just for the sake of it and instead worked with what had helped before.
it’s been two weeks and she has stayed responsive to any questions i have had. overall, it has been a solid experience so far. easily rec from me :) ty nene ??????

TLDR: If you need someone easy to get a hold of, she is not it. Nene seems kind and caring, but at the end of the day, the whole thing seemed a little off. She said she may have her students take her appointments occasionally which is a bit strange to me, and she was late to the appointment. I specifically need medication management right now, so having someone who isn't super invested is fine, but this seems to go a step further than that. There is a shortage of my medication and because of this I needed someone responsive to that issue (which is very well known in the medical community). Consistency is very important, and playing around with meds is dangerous. It's been 3 days with no response and I'm out of my meds, so had to find a new provider.
