Hello, I’m Nexida Echeto, a dual-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC), and I am honored to be part of the team at Heal to Connect | Integrative Psychiatric & Behavioral Health. My journey in healthcare has been rooted in a deep desire to understand the whole person—not just symptoms, but the experiences, stressors, strengths, and medical factors that shape overall well-being. I bring seven years of experience in psychiatric care and two years in family medicine, which allows me to approach treatment from both a mental health and medical perspective. I believe that emotional and physical health are closely connected, and effective care requires attention to both. Throughout my career, I have worked with individuals across the lifespan experiencing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma-related conditions, and complex psychiatric challenges. My goal is always to create a safe, supportive space where patients feel heard, respected, and actively involved in their treatment decisions. I value building strong therapeutic relationships grounded in trust and collaboration. I strive to combine evidence-based medication management with compassionate listening and thoughtful guidance. I believe healing begins when people feel understood—and when they are empowered with knowledge and practical tools to move forward confidently. Being part of Heal to Connect allows me to practice in alignment with my core values: connection, integrity, cultural sensitivity, and individualized care. I am passionate about helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges with clarity and resilience. I look forward to walking alongside you in your journey toward healing and balance.

What should a new client know about working with you?

if you’re considering working with me at Heal to Connect | Integrative Psychiatric & Behavioral Health, here are a few things I’d want you to know: 1. I See the Whole Person With seven years in psychiatry and two years in family medicine, I approach care holistically. Your mental health does not exist in isolation—your sleep, stress levels, medical history, lifestyle, and relationships all matter. I take the time to understand the full picture before recommending treatment. 2. Our Work Is Collaborative I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all treatment plans. We will work together to create a plan that aligns with your goals, comfort level, and values. I provide education about diagnoses and medication options so you can make informed decisions about your care. 3. You Will Be Heard My priority is creating a safe, respectful space where you feel comfortable being open. There is no judgment here. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, mood changes, trauma, or life stressors, your experiences are valid. 4. Medication Is a Tool—Not the Only Tool If medication is part of your plan, we will approach it thoughtfully and monitor it closely. I also emphasize lifestyle factors, coping strategies, and when appropriate, therapy collaboration to support long-term stability and growth. 5. Progress Is a Process Healing isn’t always linear. Some sessions focus on symptom management, others on deeper understanding or adjustments to treatment. My commitment is to walk alongside you consistently and thoughtfully. Starting mental health care can feel vulnerable. My goal is to make the process feel supportive, structured, and empowering from the very first visit.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

1. Comprehensive Initial Evaluation Our first appointment is focused on understanding you. We’ll review: Current concerns and symptoms Medical and psychiatric history Medications (past and present) Sleep, stress, lifestyle, and support systems Personal goals for treatment With my background in both psychiatry and family medicine, I assess both mental and physical health factors to ensure nothing important is overlooked. 2. Collaborative Treatment Planning After gathering a full picture, we’ll discuss options together. This may include: Medication management (if appropriate) Therapy referrals or collaboration Lifestyle adjustments Education about your diagnosis and treatment choices I believe informed decisions lead to better outcomes. You’ll always understand why a recommendation is being made. 3. Thoughtful Medication Management If medication is part of your care: We start low and adjust thoughtfully I monitor effectiveness and side effects closely Adjustments are made based on your feedback and response Medication is a tool—not the entire plan. 4. Ongoing Follow-Ups & Monitoring Follow-up visits allow us to: Track symptom improvement Address new stressors Make adjustments as needed Reinforce coping strategies and goals Progress is monitored consistently, and treatment evolves as your needs change. 5. A Supportive, Non-Judgmental Space Above all, my process centers on connection. I aim to create an environment where you feel safe, respected, and empowered to be honest about your experiences. Healing is not linear, and growth takes time. My role is to provide structure, clinical expertise, and steady support throughout your journey.
