Originally from Utah, Kathy Nguyen, FNP- BC, DCNP received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Utah, She was awarded an academic scholarship to continue a Master of Science in Nursing in a competitive Family Nurse Practitioner Program and graduated with honors in 2000. After graduating, Kathy worked as a Nurse Practitioner at South Valley Dermatology in Utah where she gained substantial experience in Clinical, Surgical and Cosmetic Dermatology. She also served as a sub-investigator on clinical trials to study a variety of dermatological conditions. After arriving to Texas in 2006, Kathy was recruited by the leading rheumatologist at Texas Rheumatology and Research Center. During this time, Kathy treated patients with systemic autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, lupus and some rare autoimmune skin disorders. She also served as a sub-investigator for clinical trials on rheumatoid arthritis. Before joining Complete Dermatology in 2013, Kathy worked with an outstanding Mohs Surgeon at Dermatology and Skin Cancer Specialists of Houston diagnosing and treating skin cancer and other skin disorders including eczema, acne and psoriasis. Kathy Nguyen is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and a Dermatology Certified Nurse Practitioner who is supervised by Dr. Sonabend. She is a lifetime member of Sigma Theta Tau, an international honor society of nursing. She is also a member of Texas Nurse Practitioner and Dermatology Nurses’ Association.
