Getting to know Nicholas Bischoff

Please note: My practice is SELF-PAY ONLY, I do not accept insurance at this time. I’m a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who helps clients move beyond symptom-management into real, lasting healing. Many of the people I work with feel stuck, overmedicated, disconnected, or frustrated with traditional approaches that haven’t created meaningful change. My practice blends holistic psychiatry, trauma-informed care, somatic therapy, and nervous-system regulation so clients can understand the root causes of their distress—not just mask them. My approach is collaborative, warm, and highly personalized. I take time to understand your history, patterns, and goals so we can create a plan that genuinely supports your emotional and physical wellbeing. For clients who feel they’re on too many medications, I offer thoughtful, safe medication reduction when appropriate, always moving at your pace. I also provide Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) for clients seeking deeper emotional processing, relief from depression, and trauma healing. KAP can create powerful breakthroughs when paired with intentional preparation, integration, and steady therapeutic support. I’m best suited for clients who are motivated for inner work, open to holistic approaches, and ready to feel more grounded, clear, and connected to themselves. If you’re seeking a practitioner who looks at the whole person, and helps you move toward real healing, I’d be honored to support your journey.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My style is warm, present, and human. I take time to truly understand you- your history, your goals, and what’s been missing from past care. You can expect a collaborative process, clear communication, and a treatment plan tailored to the whole person. My goal is not just symptom management, but real, lasting healing and a more grounded, empowered life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our first session, you can expect a calm, unhurried space where we get to know you—not just your symptoms, but your story, your patterns, and what you want for your life. I’ll ask about your mental health history, physical health, sleep, stress, relationships, and any medications you’re taking, but the conversation will feel collaborative rather than clinical. My goal is to understand what’s underneath the surface so we can create a plan that actually helps you feel better, not just “manage.” Follow-up sessions are tailored to your needs. Some visits focus on holistic medication management - adjusting or simplifying medications when appropriate, supporting safe deprescribing, and restoring your sense of clarity and vitality. Other sessions may integrate mindfulness, somatic awareness, and trauma-informed therapy to help you reconnect with your body and emotions in a safe, empowering way. If we decide together that ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) could support your healing, we’ll walk through preparation, treatment, and integration in a structured, supportive process. The work is always paced with your nervous system, never rushed. Overall, you can expect sessions that are compassionate, grounded, and focused on real healing—emotionally, mentally, and neurologically. My role is to help you make sense of what you’re experiencing, find effective next steps, and feel genuinely supported along the way.
