Family physician Nicholas Tavani, MD, PhD, leads the team at Battlefield Family Medicine & Weight Management. Having served the local residents of Manassas, Virginia, for over two decades, Dr. Tavani and the team take a compassionate approach to care and promote healthy lifestyles to patients and their families.
Dr. Tavani earned his Bachelor of Science at the Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, in 1974. Dr. Tavani recieved his medical degree at Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, DC. He then completed his internship in family medicine at Providence Hospital through Georgetown University, followed by his residency in family medicine at the University of Maryland Prince George’s Hospital Center in Cheverly. Dr. Tavani later obtained his PhD in Biophysics and Physiology at Georgetown University in 1984.

Just got a weird vibe from the staff and doctor. Half of the staff were extremely nice and welcoming. Front desk was very nice and helpful. But when I was taken to the back to do vitals and go over my medical history, the girl who did it acted like she didn’t want to be there and kept looking at me like she was annoyed.
The doctor came in and also acted like he didn’t want to be there. He gave his welcome speech like he’s tired of saying it and didn’t even look at me. It was like he was just doing it because he had to. Then he asked about my medications and started complaining and judging me for the medication I was prescribed, attacking me. I tried to defend myself and he’d cut me off. It made me feel terrible.
I haven’t had a PCP in like 10 years and wanted to get my health back in order and getting this type of care made me feel terrible. The person who gave me my flu shot and did my blood work were super friendly and amazing.
