Personal Statement: I am a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with several years of psychiatric experience behind me. I see mental health care as something that goes well beyond simply quieting symptoms, but about helping people build lives that they actually want to be living. I believe in taking a holistic approach to treating patients, looking at sleep, substance use, past traumas, relationships, and physical health to help build a full picture of mental wellbeing because the root of so many negative aspects of mental health rarely presents themselves as a surface level, straight forward complaint. Years of working in the mental health field has taught me to read a situation quickly, de-escalate calmly, and never lose sight of the person inside the diagnosis. I believe in treating the individual, not the condition. What I have found time and time again is that the real work of improving mental health for my patients begins when they genuinely feel heard. My aim for each patient remains the same regardless of what symptoms they present with: long-term wellbeing, not a short-term fix.
What should a new client know about working with you?
New clients should know that I believe mental health care is about much more than simply reducing symptoms—it's about helping people build lives they genuinely enjoy living. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and individualized because no two people experience mental health challenges in exactly the same way.
I take the time to understand the whole person, not just the diagnosis. Together, we'll explore factors such as sleep, stress, relationships, past experiences, physical health, and substance use to develop a treatment plan that addresses the underlying causes of your concerns whenever possible. I believe that lasting improvement comes from understanding the bigger picture rather than simply treating symptoms.
One of my priorities is creating an environment where you feel heard, respected, and comfortable discussing what you're going through. I know that seeking mental health care can feel overwhelming, and I strive to make each appointment a place where you can speak openly without judgment.
My goal is to partner with you to create a thoughtful, evidence-based treatment plan that supports long-term wellness rather than offering only a temporary solution. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, or another mental health concern, I am committed to helping you achieve meaningful, lasting progress.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
My approach begins with getting to know you as a person, not just your symptoms. During our initial appointment, we'll discuss your current concerns, medical and mental health history, lifestyle, relationships, sleep, stressors, and any other factors that may be contributing to how you're feeling. My goal is to develop a thorough understanding of your unique situation before making treatment recommendations.
From there, we'll work together to create an individualized treatment plan based on your goals. This may include medication management, education about your diagnosis, lifestyle recommendations, and coordination with your therapist or primary care provider when appropriate. I believe treatment works best when it's collaborative, and I encourage questions so you feel informed and involved in every decision.
Follow-up appointments allow us to monitor your progress, evaluate how treatments are working, address any side effects or concerns, and make adjustments as needed. Mental health treatment is an ongoing process, and my goal is to provide consistent support while helping you develop lasting strategies that improve your overall quality of life—not just relieve symptoms in the short term.
