About Nicole Baker

"HELLO and WELCOME! My name is Nicole. My passion for nutrition began during my adolescent years after losing both of my parents to chronic disease. Having lost both of my parents as a child resulted in me being placed in foster care and eventually adopted at the age of 10. Growing up the way that I did resulted in me developing a deep passion for chronic disease prevention and management as I did not want to live the life that my biological parents lived---I wanted to live a LONG, HAPPY, and HEALTHY one. I obtained my Master’s of Science in Human Nutrition from Michigan State University--GO GREEN! I am also a Certified Nutrition Support Clinician making me an expert in the field of nutrition support (aka tube feeding and I.V. nutrition). Prior to me venturing into the world of private practice I worked as a clinical dietitian at a local hospital for 4+ years. My hobbies include running, reading, cooking, trying out new restaurants, spending time at home with my family, and binge-watching reality tv. My favorite color is blue. My favorite foods are chicken pesto pizza and chocolate. I have two dogs named Bear and Mel and a cat named Yoda. It is my mission as a registered dietitian to provide individualized evidenced-based recommendations to my clients while taking a non-judgmental approach. I like to remind my clients that I am human and like all of the FUN foods too…it’s just important to be mindful of the foods that we are consuming and the impact that it has on our bodies. I enjoy working with all disease states, however, am especially passionate about the topic of gut health. I truly believe in the power of the gut microbiome and using it as a tool for hormone regulation, disease prevention, and disease maintenance. … MY mission is YOUR nutrition & I would be SO HAPPY to help you achieve your nutrition-related goals."
