Marriage and Family Therapist

Do you struggle with anxiety, stress, depression, grief, a challenging relationship, a loss of self, or trauma that affects your day-to-day, or other areas of your life? You may be fed up with feeling triggered in everyday situations, isolated from family, friends, partners, maybe even guilt from what happened to you. You may be feeling anger, hopelessness, overwhelmed by trying to meet expectations of others, getting through the day, or feel there is no light at the end of the tunnel. You might not remember a time things did not feel this way but one thing is for sure: you’re ready for relief. You’re ready to enjoy life. Clients come to me seeking someone who can help get to the root of their problems, lend a listening ear without passing judgment and understand them on a deeper level because therapy should be the place where you feel safe, seen and validated. Therapy sessions are a combination of talking and exercises depending on the topic of that session. You set the pace As a multi-racial therapist I applaud the first step you’re taking to heal. I know taking the first step is hard but the journey to healing is fulfilling. As an Eclectic Therapist, I can help you gain the knowledge to create new experiences during your healing journey. You do not need to continue feeling ashamed, guilty, or broken as you are not alone.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I work with clients who maybe struggling with Depression, Anxiety or Trauma related to their relationships, family, or phases of life. During our initial sessions, we will work on building a safe and compassionate environment as well as building the foundation of coping skills, techniques. We will collaborate as a team to create a plan addressing problems to help you get your life back. I often start with Humanistic Therapy in my practice. Once sessions have started and depending on the topic I bring in other the modalities such a Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, and Trauma Focused. With CBT, DBT, and REBT we will look at how your thoughts, emotions, and behavior are influenced by each other and by past/current trauma.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

A Intake session is 60 minutes where I gather information about you and the reason for seeking therapy. After the intake session, all regular sessions are 45-50 minutes where you talk about issues and I bring in different modalities depending on the topic and work needed that day.
