Getting to know Nicole Powers

Hi there! I’m Nicole Powers, PMHNP-BC — a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner specializing in compassionate, faith-sensitive, judgment-free mental health care for adults. I’m so glad you’re here! My style is warm, patient, and deeply supportive. I believe in truly listening, honoring your story, and partnering with you to create a plan that feels safe, effective, and personalized. Our sessions are comfortable, calm, and never rushed.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When you work with me, you can expect a mental-health experience that feels calm, supportive, and truly centered around you. My goal is to create a safe, judgment-free space where you can breathe, open up, and finally feel seen and understood. Many of my clients come to me after years of feeling overwhelmed, anxious, burnt out, or dismissed by other providers. Here, your story matters, your symptoms matter, and you matter. Together, we will explore what you’re experiencing—ADHD, anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, emotional overwhelm, or life transitions—and create a personalized plan that brings clarity, stability, and peace to your daily life. You’ll gain practical tools for focus, emotional regulation, and coping, along with evidence-based treatment options, lifestyle support, and compassionate guidance every step of the way. My approach is warm, patient, trauma-informed, faith-sensitive, and designed for high-functioning individuals who carry a lot on their shoulders. You will never feel rushed, judged, or dismissed. Instead, you’ll feel supported, understood, and empowered. By the end of our work together, you will feel more grounded, confident, focused, and hopeful—finally able to move forward with the clarity and emotional balance you deserve.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

During a typical session with me, you can expect a calm, welcoming, and judgment-free space where you can speak openly about what you’re experiencing. I begin by getting to know you—your symptoms, your history, your goals, and the challenges affecting your daily life. My diagnostic process is thorough but never overwhelming. I ask thoughtful questions about your mood, sleep, focus, energy, stressors, relationships, work patterns, and emotional well-being. For ADHD and anxiety evaluations, I use structured clinical tools and symptom assessments to ensure accuracy and clarity. I move at your pace and explain every step so you never feel rushed or confused. Together, we explore what’s been going on beneath the surface and identify patterns that may be affecting your mental health. From there, we discuss treatment options, which may include medication management, lifestyle strategies, emotional regulation techniques, or supportive talk-therapy elements within our sessions. Although I am not a traditional therapist, I do incorporate therapeutic conversation, grounding practices, and coping tools to help you gain clarity and relief. My goal is that you leave each session feeling heard, understood, and equipped with a clear plan. You will always know your next steps and feel supported every step of the way.
