About Nicole Thoma

I graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 2018 with a Master's in Speech-Language Pathology and hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). I enjoy working with clients of all ages and abilities and have spent the last six years providing therapy to clients ages 11–18 in the public school setting. I have expertise in working with individuals with language, articulation, stuttering, voice, executive functioning, and cognitive disorders. My time in the schools has led to my firm belief that movement and play are fantastic tools to increase engagement, meet sensory needs, and improve accessibility for all clients in speech and language therapy. I strongly believe that communication skills and mental health are closely connected and prioritize incorporating families, teachers, and all stakeholders to provide meaningful gains that directly impact day-to-day life. In my own life, I enjoy traveling, exploring the Twin Cities, hiking, and spending time with my husband and my hilariously pampered tuxedo cat, Mo.
