About Nidhi Avichal
Nidhi provides patient-centered dermatologic care with a strong foundation in emergency medicine and academic instruction. She has seven years of bedside nursing and clinical educator experience at the University of Maryland Medical Center Emergency Department, where she has developed strong clinical acumen and a passion for teaching. Her interest in dermatology was sparked by a personal love for skincare and her daughter’s experience with eczema, inspiring her to pursue a career in the specialty.
She earned a Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, an Associate Degree in Nursing from Christ Hospital School of Nursing, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Notre Dame of Maryland University. She then completed her Master of Science in Family Nurse Practitioner at Thomas Jefferson University, where she received comprehensive didactic and clinical education across a variety of specialties.
Nidhi began her nurse practitioner career by completing Schweiger Dermatology Group’s Advanced Practice Provider Training Program, gaining hands-on training in medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology under expert supervision.

Dr Nidhi is very professional and knows what she’s doing. I was prescribed a medication by another provider in the same practice and it was ineffective but Dr Nidhi immediately diagnosed the symptoms and promptly prescribed prescription as well as over the counter creams for my son. I would highly recommend her!!
