Getting to know Njideka Ikeakor

I am a dual-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with a comprehensive background in both physical and mental health care across the lifespan. My clinical experience includes primary care, chronic disease management, and behavioral health, allowing me to approach patient care holistically. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, and trauma-related conditions, as well as managing physical conditions like hypertension and women's health issues. Clients can expect a compassionate, collaborative, and evidence-based approach to care that prioritizes their individual needs, promotes wellness, and empowers them to actively participate in their treatment journey.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When you choose to work with me, you can expect a supportive, welcoming space where your voice truly matters. My approach is warm, compassionate, and collaborative I believe the best care happens when you feel safe, heard, and respected. Together, we’ll set goals that reflect your values and lifestyle, focusing on creating lasting changes at a pace that feels right for you. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all care every plan is personalized and grounded in evidence based practices, with a genuine human touch. Whether your focus is mental health, physical health, or both, you’ll find a space that celebrates inclusivity and welcomes individuals from all walks of life, including members of the LGBTQ+ community. Consistency, trust, and meaningful progress will guide our work together and I look forward to being part of your healing journey.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our work together begins with a conversation that’s all about you. In the first session, I take time to learn your full story your health, your experiences, and your goals so I can truly understand the whole person, not just the symptoms. Together, we’ll explore your concerns, lifestyle, and history, and then create a personalized plan that feels realistic and supportive. This plan may include medication, lifestyle strategies, therapy, or trusted referrals always tailored to your unique needs. Follow-up sessions are where the real progress happens. These meetings are structured yet flexible, giving us space to celebrate wins, address challenges, and adjust your care as life evolves. My approach is integrative and evidence-based, blending medical and mental health expertise to provide care that is practical, effective, and empowering. At every step, my goal is to build a partnership where you feel supported, respected, and informed so you can move forward with confidence and clarity.
