“Nneka Wogu was exceptional for my first visit. I felt as though she took the time to hear me out and listen to my immediate concerns regarding my circumstances as well as my past and future experiences. I would highly proceed her at this point. I will make more reviews. But personally, as someone who has dealt with mental illness for well over 20 years I was impressed by the attention and compassion she showered during our visit. It was nice to discuss the background of it all and address medicinal treatment while also taking the steps to introduce a well thought out treatment plan that suits my needs as new patient. I felt heard and understood throughout my appointment and I am looking forward to my next appointment with her. Please reach out to her if you have need a good start on your journey of mental health improvement and recovery. She listens… explains and discusses the treatment with you on a level you understand as well as makes sure you are well informed and understand!”

Getting to know Nneka Wogu

Hi, I'm Nneka, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) based in Maryland, offering telehealth services across Maryland and Virginia. I provide medication management for adults dealing with anxiety, depression, ADHD, and mood disorders. I earned my Master's in Nursing from Walden University and my Bachelor's degree from Washington Adventist University. My approach is holistic and patient-centered, focusing on the connection between mental and physical health. I listen carefully to your concerns and work collaboratively to create a treatment plan that fits your life and goals. I understand that no two people are the same, and I strive to make every visit a safe, respectful, and empowering experience. Whether you're navigating a new diagnosis or looking to optimize your current treatment, I'm here to help.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, respected, and understood. As a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, I take a holistic and collaborative approach to care—this means we’ll look at both your mental and physical health, lifestyle, and unique life experiences. During your first appointment, I’ll take time to truly listen and learn about your symptoms, history, and goals. Together, we’ll develop a personalized treatment plan that may include medication management, lifestyle changes, or referrals for therapy if needed. I understand how difficult it can be to take that first step toward healing, and I’ll meet you with empathy, professionalism, and support—wherever you are on your journey. My goal is to help you feel better, more in control, and more hopeful about your future.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process begins with a comprehensive initial evaluation, where I take time to understand your full picture—your symptoms, medical and mental health history, current lifestyle, and treatment goals. This first visit usually lasts about 45–60 minutes and lays the foundation for our work together. Following the evaluation, we’ll collaboratively create a treatment plan that may include medication management, lifestyle recommendations, and coordination with therapists or other providers if needed. I make sure you’re involved in every decision—your preferences and comfort are always a priority. Ongoing follow-up visits are typically shorter (15–30 minutes) and focused on monitoring progress, adjusting medications if necessary, and addressing any concerns. I value open communication and strive to create a supportive, judgment-free environment where you feel empowered in your care. Whether you're starting treatment for the first time or continuing care, I’ll walk with you each step of the way.

She's a great doctor. She listened to everything I said and asked questions so that she was able to clearly understand my needs. Nneka Wogu, NP, is an exceptional healthcare provider. Her professionalism, excellent communication skills, and positive demeanor make every visit a pleasant experience. She creates a comfortable environment where I feel at ease expressing my concerns, and she listens attentively to every detail. What stands out most is her responsiveness, which has been invaluable during times when I’ve required immediate assistance. Her unwavering dedication and balance in managing patient care have truly made a difference in my health journey. I deeply appreciate the outstanding care she provides.

I would recommend this NP to everyone. I am very picky but during a moment of crises my daughter located this doctor. I had several boxes I needed to be checked as I had already contacted the crises hotline for help. They were unable to assist me for the pacific needs I identified. I work in this field (mental Health) so I know what to look for in a doctor. She checked every last box and that's difficult for me. She listened, she was informative, she personalized my care on my needs and not just basically a prescription for the diagnosis. She is knowledgeable and she educates you. She took the time to assess everything as she should had. By the end of the visit I had a broader outlook and felt better knowing I was on the road to getting better. After my first visit I returned for my second visit and she maintained the same standard. She doesn't keep you waiting, She is amazing and has brought me to feeling like a better version of myself.

Dr Wogu was amazing. She was able to make an exception for me last minute because I had an emergency. She actually treats you like you are a human being and not a paycheck or charity case. She will be my Dr until the day I am no longer on this earth. She is that amazing of a person.
She’s so understanding and caring honestly the best dr I’ve ever seen! She’s always there to help and goes above and beyond. I would highly recommend her to everyone!!
Dr. Wogu listened to my concerns with great empathy. She let me speak and asked questions to help me with my issues. I really appreciate her as a provider.

I will not be scheduling another appointment with this prescriber. For a prescription that is usually for three months' supply, she prescribed one month to ensure I would have to schedule another appointment. This script is never prescribed for only one month at a time.

Great provider. Listened to my concerns and helped me tremendously. If she seen children I'd bring my babies to her. She is the absolute best
