About Dr. Nusrat Ahsan
While Dr. Ahsan was growing up, she always wanted to be a doctor. Her mother told her stories about how her father wanted his youngest daughter to become a doctor, but he passed away just before she was born. Ever since, she has felt a strong obligation to fulfill his wish. She believes that we, as human beings, are on earth to perform God's work and is grateful to do that by practicing medicine and improving the quality of life for her patients.
Dr. Ahsan’s philosophy of practice is that the relationship between physician and patient is a partnership nurtured around preventing and treating diseases.
She likes to ask her patients about the events that led them to visit the clinic. She encourages open communication by carefully listening to her patients’ thoughts and ideas to develop the best thought-out treatment plan. This approach allows her to provide comprehensive medical care tailored to each individual.
The most important aspect of the physician/patient relationship is one of trust and respect. Dr. Ahsan believes it is critical for patients to discuss personal matters so she can better understand root causes and make accurate diagnoses.
Ideally, she would like her patients to remember their first visit as a new contract on discipline, willpower, and long life.
What she likes most about Family Medicine is that it allows her to see patients of all ages—from children to the elderly—and treat a wide variety of conditions, ranging from surgery to women’s health.
Dr. Ahsan loves to practice evidence-based medicine and focuses on preventive care in addition to treating acute problems. She enjoys helping patients heal and improve the ailments that brought them to her care.
She earned her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from Dow Medical College. She completed her internship at the University of Southern California and her residency at Presbyterian Community Hospital.

This doctor made errors in my chart, turned the computer around and showed me the errors while laughing. Meanwhile, I was there for a test and she didn’t even wait to see the result before moving on with the appointment saying “I’m sure it’ll be negative.” Prior to leaving, she also made rude comments about my weight. Horrible bedside manner.

Office staff was very friendly and welcoming. I was called in to see the dr before i could finish my new patient paper work (and i showed up early as requested to complete it). Dr. Ashan has a very pleasant beside beside manner, asked great questions to ensure she understood my conditions completely, very patient and thorough.
