About Dr. Obioma Onah

Obioma Onah, DNP, AGPNP-BC Dr. Obioma Onah is the Founder, CEO, and Clinical Director of Vital Care Wellness. She is a Doctoral Adult Nurse Practitioner and a board-certified Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner. With extensive experience in primary care, Dr. Onah conducts comprehensive annual physical exams, pre-employment assessments, and manages acute and chronic diseases such as hypertension, obesity, diabetes, high cholesterol, and medication refills, among others. Before founding her practice, Dr. Onah worked at ESSEN Health, where she provided exceptional primary care and subacute services to elderly patients. During her time there, she conducted physical assessments, diagnosed and treated both chronic and acute diseases, updated patients’ vaccinations, and referred them to specialty care as needed. Dr. Onah also has extensive experience providing comprehensive healthcare services to refugee and asylum-seeking populations across shelters and migrant reception centers in New York City. She addresses the complex medical needs unique to refugee populations through thorough medical screenings. Dr. Onah is known for her knowledge, compassion, and dedication to serving the underserved community, making her patients’ overall health, well-being, and satisfaction her top priority.
