What should a new client know about working with you?

As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with more than 13 years of experience in the mental health field, I believe effective mental health care begins with trust, compassion, and collaboration. I strive to create a welcoming, judgment-free environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to participate in their treatment. My approach is individualized and evidence-based, combining medication management, psychotherapy-informed interventions, psychoeducation, and practical strategies to support each client’s unique goals. I take the time to understand the whole person—not just the symptoms—and work collaboratively with clients to develop treatment plans that are realistic, culturally responsive, and aligned with their values and needs. Whether you are seeking support for a new concern or looking to improve long-term stability, my goal is to help you feel understood, supported, and confident in your path toward better mental wellness.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My typical process begins with creating a comfortable, confidential, and judgment-free space where clients can openly share their concerns and treatment goals. I start with a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, including a review of symptoms, mental health history, medical history, medications, psychosocial factors, and current functioning. From there, we collaboratively identify treatment goals and develop an individualized plan that may include medication management, psychotherapy-informed interventions, lifestyle recommendations, and psychoeducation. I believe treatment should be collaborative, so I encourage questions and active participation in every decision. During follow-up visits, we monitor progress, medication effectiveness and tolerability, changes in symptoms, and overall functioning, making adjustments when appropriate. My goal is to provide compassionate, evidence-based care while helping each client build the knowledge, confidence, and skills needed to achieve sustainable mental wellness.
